The KORA Project

KORA is a project constantly redefining itself. It exists to hold together different research and production projects that can relate to a choreographic idea.

The choreographic idea is to consider that undetermined spaces exist in structures and that they are a motive of possibilities of creation and interaction.The basic approach is interested in the relation between the mental and physical spaces and the relation between the tangible and intangible.

Based on ideas of the general system theory and the laws of thermodynamics, the parameters of a relationship are that every physical and mental idea is not finished or preconceived but rather re-created in every given moment. If the space is constantly transforming by every element that composes it and every action that changes it, then safety and judgment can easily become artificial and unclear. Habits and patterns can be identified and worked with. This suggests a responsibility of everyone that moves and everyone that stays still.

Los espacios indeterminados o indeterminables son motivo de posibilidad de interacción y creación. Dentro de las estructuras invisibles en lo cotidiano se buscan alternativas de una percepción habitual. El trabajo se encuentra dentro de los espacios donde no está completamente establecido cómo interactuar con ellos, buscando así el aprendizaje: Identificar qué convenciones sirven como herramientas de comunicación o cuáles facilitan o imponen decisiones personales. Investigar los hábitos en el pensar, en el sentir, en el mover y tratar de estimular una experiencia que genere una perspectiva diferente. Trabajar la imágen sobre todo a partir de la idea de estimular la imaginación.

KORA es un proyecto que requiere de diversos medios y de distintos colaboradores. Comenzó en México en el 2008 con el fin de enriquecer el trabajo individual de cada integrante en cada proyecto. KORA propone un espacio para reflexionar (verbal- y no verbalmente) acerca del trabajo individual que busca co-inspirar, reanimar y comunicar. El punto de partida es generar relaciones desde diferentes perspectivas y construir un espacio de posibilidades de manera refrescante y provocativa para todos lor participantes. Los lugares desconocidos son el impulso para conocerse, moverse y reaccionar para aportar al espacio. Actualmente el proyecto principal de KORAes trabaja para crear una residencia artística en Islandia.
